I've had very poor experiences in the past with other property management companies on the peninsula, but Abode have been exceptional since I moved to across to them in 2020. I was on the hunt for a unit in Mornington for just myself to live in.

Although I had a tight budget, I attended several opens-for-inspection hoping that vendors might consider negotiating downward if I could offer a speedy settlement.

I put in a verbal offer on a unit that fell in the middle of the quoted price range, but it was rejected as the vendor wanted a higher price. Interestingly, many weeks later, that property is still on the market.

The second open I attended was a little above what I could afford. The agent who conducted the open rang to ask if I was interested in putting in an offer. Knowing I was a keen buyer, but with a tight budget, I thought this agent might maintain contact and offer to show me alternative properties. Disappointingly, this did not happen.

Finally, I attended an open run by Brad Boyd from Abode Peninsula. I gave him the same details as I had the other agents and advised him I didn’t want to waste either his or my time by looking at properties that were just not affordable for me. Brad encouraged me to view a unit on the understanding that the vendor may be very interested in a speedy settlement. Brad was the first agent to really listen to what I was saying and show genuine interest in working with me as a buyer, while still taking into account his vendor’s best interests. I ultimately purchased this particular unit and love it! I am so glad I didn’t buy the property for which I submitted a verbal offer because the unit I now own is exactly what I want, and is the perfect fit for my needs and lifestyle – something I believe Brad identified very early on.
